Over 100 people attended The Tiny Miracles Foundation’s event on World Prematurity Day, November 17th.  The event showcased “Artwork Born Ahead of Its Time” – unique pieces created by local preemies.  One in ten children is born prematurely, worldwide.  World Prematurity Day is observed on November 17theach year to raise awareness of preterm birth and the concerns of preterm babies and their families.

The event was generously sponsored by the Westport Arts Center, Jerry’s Artarama (Norwalk) Garelick& Herbs, D&D Linen (West Haven), Bar Taco (Norwalk), Cobbs Mill Inn (Weston), Black Cat Grille (Redding) and Character Arts (Wilton).  Guests sampled wines from One Hope Wine while viewing the paintings. Over $5,000 was raised to support The Tiny Miracles Foundation.

The Tiny Miracles Foundation (TTMF) is a volunteer-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support and assistance to families with premature infants in the greater Fairfield County, Connecticut area, and to helping our local neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) provide the best possible care for premature patients and their families. TTMF strives to improve the lives and outcomes of preterm babies and their families, and addresses a community need that is virtually unmet by any other local, regional or national organization.

The Tiny Miracles Foundation assists over 1,000 local families per year throughout Fairfield County through programs at our four partner hospitals in Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, and Danbury and services to the community at large. These services are delivered by our over one hundred dedicated volunteers and a small support staff. Support provided by TTMF volunteers who have personally experienced the premature birth of a baby, the complications that arise, the challenges families face, and in sad cases, the loss of a precious tiny miracle, is invaluable to these families and is one of the many things that makes TTMF so special.
