Michelle Meade is the mother of a 27-week preemie boy. Michelle lost her amniotic fluid at her 25th week and was transported on a Flight for Life from Durango to Denver. She received medical intervention and was able to maintain Owen’s pregnancy and delivered him naturally in her 27th week. At this point, his NICU journey began and he remained in Denver for 101 days. Michelle lived in a Ronald McDonald House close by for the duration of Owen’s hospital stay. She found comfort in conversation with other families and the incredible medical staff in the NICU. It helped her with being far away from her older son and husband. She struggled with the roller coaster ride that a NICU stay can be but remained positive and hopeful. Her son, Owen, is now a thriving middle school student and athlete. Michelle is looking forward to sharing her story with families. She hopes it will help them to find peace and positivity in their NICU journey. It’s her pleasure to have found TTMF since she has always wanted to give back to the NICU community and its families since Owen’s birth.
