Kara and her husband, John, are the parents of two premature babies: Kayla, who was born at 24.5 weeks and lived for two precious hours, and Michael, who was born at 29 weeks. While their journeys with Kayla and Michael were very different, both shaped who Kara is today and inspired her commitment to supporting NICU families.
Kara has been involved with The Tiny Miracles Foundation for several years as a mentor, parent advocate, and member of the Board of Directors, helping families navigate the challenges and emotions that come with a premature birth. Through sharing her experiences, Kara hopes to provide comfort, encouragement, and reassurance that no parent has to walk this journey alone.
Professionally, Kara works in long-term care and senior services, helping others navigate some of life’s most challenging and meaningful moments. She also enjoys spending time with family, reading, crocheting and giving back to the community that supported her family during one of the most meaningful chapters of their lives.
