DESCRIPTION:Join The Tiny Miracles Foundation and presenter\, Janelle Posey-Green\, LCSW\, LCC\, for a discussion on Implicit Bias\, Cultural Diversity & Inclusion in Practice. \nThis training addresses implicit bias. In this training participants will learn and understand the importance of developing awareness of cultural competency as well as developing an anti-racist mindset. The training is designed to be interactive\, and participants will be provided with activities and resources to support cultural competency in action.  \nThursday\, June 3 \n7:00 to 8:30 PM \n \nJanelle Posey-Green\, LCSW is co-owner of Magnolia Wellness\, LLC located in New London\, Connecticut. She merges holistic and African indigenous healing practices with psychotherapy to create a well-rounded healing experience. Janelle is a trained trauma and EMDR therapist and specializes working with women as well as those experiencing race based stress. Janelle also provides training and consultation to professionals looking to expand their knowledge and practice of cultural competency. \nJanelle is the founder and president of the Southeastern CT Naturalistas. The organization was created as an online forum to help people of color learn how to care for and embrace their natural hair. The Naturalistas organized an annual offline community event\, “Embrace Your Crown”\, which celebrates natural Black hair and beauty. The event hosts several workshops\, local Black vendors\, and entertainers.  \nMost recently\, Janelle created the CT BIPOC Mental Health & Wellness Initiative in March 2020 as a response to the double pandemic (Covid-19 & Racism) affecting Americans in the BIPOC community. She recruited a multidisciplinary Healing team to moderate the healing forums through zoom. The initiative provides free discussion and healing forums for people of color.   \n  \n** RSVP BELOW – Zoom link will be shared prior to the meeting.
