We encourage you to pack a simple family picnic to bring along for dinner. \n  \nWhere can we picnic?  Each car will have 2 parking spaces. Bring your lawn chairs and a picnic dinner for the 2nd space to tailgate! \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCan we go into the farm museum?  You can stroll through the farm with your family before the movie beginning at 5:30.  The Bendel Mansion Museum will be closed. Heckscher Farm\, which is adjacent to the Farmhouse parking lot\, will be open for visiting farm animals and strolling. (Masks are required when on property for everyone age 4 and older when 6′ social distancing is not possible.) \n  \nHow do we see and hear the movie?  You may either sit in your car or on lawn chairs in the second space of your parking spot.  The movie sound will be sent to a radio station that you can listen to through your car radio. \n  \nWhat time will the movie begin?  The movie will be played at dusk with expectation being roughly 7pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nBonus: A free Miracle T-Shirt at check-in for all preemies when they arrive!\n

DESCRIPTION:TTMF Parent Support Mentor Training \nvia Zoom \nTuesday\, August 25 \n7:00 to 8:30 PM \nPlease RSVP below to receive the Zoom meeting code. \n  \nMentor Training will focus on trauma-informed care with special considerations for meeting today’s NICU families’ needs.   \n  \nPresented by Kara Wahlin from NICU Healing.  \nKara Wahlin is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who practices in Southern California. Kara is trained in art therapy and postmodernism\, and incorporates those modalities into her therapeutic practice. Kara went through spontaneous preterm labor with her fraternal twin boys William and Elliott at 26 weeks in her pregnancy. When the hospital was unable to stop the labor with numerous means\, she gave birth to the boys at 26 weeks\, 6 days. They were immediately transferred to the NICU and put on life support. After a brief “honeymoon”\, William’s health quickly deteriorated. He passed away when he was one week old. Elliott faced his own challenges in the NICU: jaundice\, breathing assistance\, PDA ligation\, blood transfusions\, anemia of prematurity\, reflux\, bradycardia and apnea spells\, and difficulty coordinating the suck swallow breathe reflex. He spent 88 days in the NICU\, and came home just shy of his actual due date.  \nNICU Healing provides parents with a set of tools for coping and thriving with a new set of challenges put to them by having a medically complex or premature baby that were developed by a therapist who went through a similar experience.

DESCRIPTION:Join The Tiny Miracles Foundation for our After the NICU Education Series: \nLife After the NICU with Elisabeth Schneider\, LMFT \nWednesday\, July 15 @ 7:30 pm on ZOOM. \n \nJoin us for our next Life After the NICU session on Zoom.  Hear from Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist\, Elisabeth Schneider\, who will discuss the emotional side of bringing baby home during a pandemic.  We recognize that transitioning home from the NICU can be a challenging experience.  Session will include strategies to manage stress and anxiety. \nRSVP below to receive the Zoom meeting ID. \nElisabeth Schneider is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 16 years of experience.  Elisabeth’s work focuses on families experiencing struggles with infertility\, pregnancy loss\, premature birth and post partum depression and anxiety.  She is certified in the treatment of perinatal mood disorders and perinatal bereavement and she facilitates trainings on these topics for other mental health professionals.   \nElisabeth worked at TTMF for 2 1/2 years as the Director of Family Services.  More recently\, Elisabeth has taken on the roll of Coordinator of the Developmental Follow Up Clinic and Mental Health Support for NICU families at Bridgeport Hospital.  She also works as the Perinatal Bereavement Counselor at the hospital\, supporting families who have experienced a perinatal loss.   \nElisabeth maintains a private practice in Fairfield as well.   \n  \nThe Tiny Miracles Foundation is using Zoom\, a third party vendor\, to host meetings of our virtual support groups. Zoom is a cloud platform for video and audio conferencing with functionality across mobile devices\, desktops\, and telephones.
