“A Star is Born”: a Successful Night!
The Tiny Miracles Foundation (TTMF) held their 8th annual Spring Gala at the Wee Burn Country Club in Darien on Saturday, April 27, 2013 and closed the night raising over $200,000 for their support programs for preemie parents in our community. The 2013 theme, “A Star is Born” called for a dress code of Old Hollywood Chic to complement the red carpet glamor and swanky tunes. Guests enjoyed specialty drinks from sponsors St. Germaine and Kettle One while they perused silent auction items on display.
After a seated dinner, President Leelee Klein of Darien and Executive Director Gwen Noto spoke to the crowd of 230 guests about The Tiny Miracles Foundation’s new initiatives and directed the crowd’s attention to the TTMF video detailing the journey of local preemie parents and the support that The Tiny Miracles Foundation brings to our community for these parents. The emotional highlight of evening was listening to “tiny miracles” Christopher Wilson of Wilton, Lola Triay of Stamford and Lilah Queenan of Ridgefield tell their birth stories and thank their medical care providers and Tiny Miracles for helping their families recover from their very early beginnings.
Afterward, an electrifying live auction secured more funds for the TTMF programs and the sounds of Groove Events kept the crowd dancing. Socializing continued late into the night, while a fabulous theme cake were provided by Palmer’s Bakery of Darien and decadent chocolate bars were provided by Godiva.
Many local sponsors supported the event, including: Stamford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital Foundation, Bridgeport Hospital Foundation, Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation, Bluff Point Associates, Broder & Orland LLC, Callari Auto Group, Fairfield Plastic Surgery, Kelly Real Estate Associates, Nestle Waters and Weeden and Company. Auction items were donated by local businesses such as New England School of Dance, Karen Green Baby Nurses, Juliska, Kempo Academy, Flywheel in Stamford, Ben Larrabee Photography, Pilates by Julie, Maria Livesay Salon, Dance with Me, Frank & Lu, Weed and Duryea, Williams and Company, Jay Ackerman Photography, Alix Martinez Photography and more.
